Rathdown School: Building Hope in Romania

  • About

More than 5 million Romanians live in poverty. 55% of the population live in overcrowded, dilapidated homes.

For more than 20 years, Habitat Romania has been working beside families and communities in need to improve living conditions. This includes building and renovating homes and community centres, and advocating for better housing policies.

Funds raised in Ireland are supporting Habitat Romania’s work in communities across the country.

In 2020, a team from Rathdown School will travel to Romania to support this life-changing work.

Volunteers will:

Build beside communities in need

Understand poverty & global development

Inspire long-term support for social justice

Learn to work in a team

Develop leadership & entrepreneurship
